Jillian Cridland (she/her)

Registered Psychotherapist (RP), MA, RSSW, BA

Jillian has spent the last several years supporting children, adolescents and families in her town in Northern Ontario. She is a Registered Psychotherapist and offers child, adolescent, family and individual counselling.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Lakehead University, a Social Service Worker Diploma and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
Jillian is passionate about supporting children 8+, adolescents, young adults, and parents as they navigate through life’s transitions and challenges. She believes in creating a safe space for individuals where they feel seen and validated. She helps clients build tools, strategies and supports that are tailored to their unique life circumstances with the goal of fostering each person’s individual strengths.

Jillian is certifying in Play Therapy and brings a trauma informed approach to her work with clients. She has additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Her areas of focus include: anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, ADHD, behaviour challenges, transition to parenthood, grief and bereavement, trauma, stress, relationship challenges and self-esteem.

Jillian is a mother to two toddlers and lends a compassionate ear working with individuals who are navigating the peaks and valleys of parenthood. She lives in a small town in north-western Ontario, and over the past eight years has travelled all over her district providing support to children in schools and in communities. In her personal time, Jillian loves to read, and spend time out on the lake with her husband, two children and rescue dog.
